Chobe Elephants

Chobe Elephants -The most incredible feature of the Chobe National Park is its massive concentration of Elephants. It supports the largest surviving Elephant populations in the world, estimated to exceed 120,000. This population is dispersed throughout much of northern Botswana, as well as parts of north-western Zimbabwe.

Elephants living here are Kalahari elephants, the largest in size of all known elephant populations. They are characterized by rather brittle ivory and short tusks, perhaps due to calcium deficiency in the soils.
