Amboseli
Amboseli – The name “Amboseli” comes from a Maasai word meaning “salty dust”. It is situated in southern Kenya. It’s known for its large elephant herds and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
The park area is home to African bush elephant, Cape buffalo, impala, lion, cheetah, spotted hyena, Masai giraffe, Grant’s zebra, and blue wildebeest. The western section is dominated by vast Lake Amboseli, which is dry outside the rainy season.
It also boasts roughly 400 species of birds including pelicans, kingfishers, crakes, hamerkop and 47 raptor species.
